    The purpose of the 2007 Monterey Homeland Security
    Conference is to showcase innovative research and the
    transition to application, being performed at U.S. Academic
    and other research institutions, including National Laboratories
    and Federally Funded Research and Development Centers.

    Presentations and posters will be geared toward an audience,
    including: the DHS Research, Innovation, and Transition
    Directorates; DHS Division leadership; Prime Contractors;
    and other Users/Agencies capable of funding, influencing, and
    incorporating innovative technologies into current and future
    systems.

    The event is intended to foster the formation of teams among
    research laboratories, universities, and hardware
    manufacturers/system integrators, in alignment with the DHS
    S&T Division- and Directorate- missions. The targeted
    relationships and alignment will encourage faster transition of
    innovative technologies to DHS systems and applications.

    The conference audience will include:
    • Department of Homeland Security
    • Prime contractors/systems integrators
    • Homeland Security-related education and research
    programs
    • National Laboratories
    • Federally Funded Research and Development Centers
    (FFRDC’s).
